Hi,
I am looking for a popup blocker that actually works. I have tried a few, but they don't seem to make much difference. It doesn't have to be particularly accessible because it's for a sighted person.

I vtried a few of them. Granted, I had an arsehole trying to fix my computer, so I am not certain if it was done right. But the only way I was able to remedy the pop up problem and restore my system to its usual speed and efficiency was to have someone come and do a windows cleanup. It was well wroth it. Stay wway from Kazaa and other popup friendly sites and programs after you get it done. None of the software worked wonders for me. Good luck.

well, I already have told about KaZaA. This program is configured to be an oppened port. So the risk is really insecure. I've tryed pop-down. This program is small and well, it blocks pop-ups... it really works. The icon is placed in the system tray. You can setting the program, for example if you want it to block all pop-ups, or allow a maximum of 2 3 4 5... whatever number it wants. I think it doesn't work welll when there are a fight of pop-ups, this means a lot of pop-ups oppened simultaneously. There are just a few that don't get catch by it. As leaffan said, avoid KaZaA, as well as adult websites. Some freeware untrusted sites brought me lots and lots of spyware, and I was getting pop-ups all the time even with the pop-up blocker running!
but i recomend you that. Its accesible for everyone, even fro blind... I had to use it with jaws.

Hi,
Where do you get Pop-Down?
I've tried several, such as No Ads, Adshield and several others, and they just didn't work wonders. Ah well...

hi. i got pop-down from www.softonic.com. That page contains individual program autors, so you won't find their software in download.com or something like that. Individual autors means that there are people making software for others, and they just post them on that website. The service is free though if you want dps download or private download, you'll have to pay... and thats a bunch of anoying things. The page is in spanish. There is a link somewhere that says english... but I am not sure
